Why not just use the terminal?

You can. SSH Manager just turns the parts you dread into one panel.

The manual way
  • Hand-edit ~/.ssh/config and hope nothing breaks
  • ssh -L … in a Terminal tab you can never close
  • grep through known_hosts to verify a fingerprint
  • git init your dotfiles just to get history
  • Juggle agent sockets and key passphrases
With SSH Manager
  • Lossless editor preserves every byte you didn’t touch
  • Supervised in-process tunnels with live throughput
  • Searchable known_hosts with TOFU verification
  • Built-in content-addressed version tree
  • Keychain-backed keys and agent, in one place

Frequently asked

Is the free version actually usable, or just a demo?

It’s a complete ssh_config manager you can use forever, no account required — the lossless editor, effective-config viewer, security linter, connection tester, and the key / agent / known_hosts viewers are all free. Pro adds the power tools: tunnels, key generation, agent management, version-history restore, and system integration.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time $7 purchase with no account required, and free updates across the entire 1.x line. Pay once, unlock every platform you use.

How do I unlock Pro after buying?

Enter your email in the app and click the magic link we send you. The app caches a signed entitlement and verifies it offline forever after — the same email unlocks macOS (and Linux, when it ships).

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The app ships as a Universal binary for both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Will it mess with my existing ssh_config?

Only the parts you change. The parser is lossless — comments, formatting, and Includes are preserved — and app-only data like tunnels and tags is stored in a separate database, never in your config.

Do tunnels shell out to the ssh binary?

No. Tunnels run entirely in-process over swift-nio-ssh, which is what makes them work cleanly inside the macOS App Sandbox — no Terminal, no subprocess.

App Store or direct download?

Both. You can buy on the Mac App Store, or download a Developer ID–signed, notarized build directly. Your license covers either.

What’s your refund policy?

A 14-day, no-questions-asked refund. If Pro isn’t for you, just ask.
